Christ stilling the waves June 2013 111

We restarted our blog page in order to be able to inform our readers about news items from the secular or religious world that need to be more widely seen or commentated about.

We stopped it in 2007, when we were asked by Bishop McGee to stop blogging; (under threat against Fr. Stephen's priestly faculties).

We had earlier that year, told Bishop Gilbert that we would stop blogging if he wished us to, but at that time he was happy for us to continue.

However, we were under two different dioceses due to living in a different diocese to that in which Fr. Stephen is incardinated.

Now however, the world and the Churches are descending ever further into a moral morass. And as we have ended our obedience to Pope Francis - and therefore a Bishops who go along with his false teachings and example - we are free to do what we must do under God. Preach God's Truth to the people, in season and out of season, so that those who have ears to hear may turn back to God and be saved.

For details on why we have removed our obedience please read our Declaration and footnotes.

Draw near, O nations, to Hear and Harken, O peoples

Draw Near, O nations, To Hear, And Hearken O Peoples !

I have written the article below for a number of reasons, but what prompted me in particular to write this article is the extraordinary furore which has taken hold of what I would call the Traditionalist Old Rite, and the Conservative groups in the Church. As one person experienced in the fight between the right and the left in Britain in the 60’s and 70’s said to me, “The right is always disorganized, but the left is always organized”. That this state of affairs is now afflicting the Roman Catholic Church at this time is very sad. Many of the protagonists from the traditional and orthodox wing of the Church seem to be bickering and fighting each other. The liberals in the Church must be laughing and rubbing their hands in delight. The Corona Virus seems to have had something to do with this, especially with regard to the receiving or not receiving communion. A question which would be good to ask is how did St. Antony of Egypt manage for 20 years without communion when he was in deep isolation. Of course he may have had communion occasionally, but as his food was thrown to him over the wall of the fort it begs the question how!

The Trinity dwells within each baptized Christian, and St. Teresa says that Christ remains in the soul of the person even in the case of mortal sin or words to that effect. It is 39 years since I read St. Teresa’s Interior Castle. In these desperate times which will open onto a time of dread, it is most important that we try, difficult though it is, to be charitable. So let us remember the words of St. Francis de Sales, patron saint of journalists, on this subject: “The Truth which is not charitable, springs from a charity which is not true.”

(Isaiah 34: 1)

Draw Near, O nations, to Hear, And Hearken O Peoples !

So opens chapter 34 of Isaiah. It continues as follows. Let the earth listen, and all that fills it; the world, and all that comes from it. For the Lord is enraged against all the nations, and furious against all their host. He has doomed them, has given them over to the slaughter. ( Isaiah 34; 1-2)

In much that has been written regarding the Corona Virus, one thing that does seem to have got lost, is the notion that God is judging, and not perhaps in even the way that Isaiah is describing which is more to do with punishing. Perhaps the scenario of what is happening now has more to do with Elijah’s words to the people of Israel before he begins the contest between himself and the prophets of Baal as to who is God? The people of Israel are assembled on Mount Carmel with their King, Ahab and in silence they listen to the great prophet:

“How long will you go limping with two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word. (1 Kings 18: v. 21).

How typical of guilty people when their guilt is revealed; there always seems to be an uneasy silence about them. They do not wish to acknowledge their guilt, and yet they know that they cannot defend themselves. How does this apply to the West, once Christian and now a hotchpotch of humanism, paganism, occultism, secularism and unorthodox Christianity?

Ever since The Renaissance, and more so since The Enlightenment, the men of the West have been more and more loosening their moorings to Christianity. Despite the valiant attempts of such men as Girolamo Savonarola, Martin Luther, and the early Capuchins, along with such men as St. Francis de Sales, to prevent the paganism of the Renaissance from destroying Christian Europe, we have found the West being led away from Christ by Robespierre’s goddess of reason, Rousseau’s noble savage, and the Enlightenment’s belief in the goodness of Man. Finally, we have Darwinian Evolution, which unwittingly gives birth to Nietzsche’s death of God, and the Superman; the latter logically follows on from the former. If there is no God in the Christian sense, why should there be anything remotely resembling Christian morality? Why should not the fittest survive in a Darwinian jungle where the weakest go, not only to the wall, but are devoured and destroyed by the strongest? Chambers Biographical Dictionary shows an alarming naivete by commenting on Nietzsche’s effect on the Nazis. “ His reputation suffered when his views were taken up in a simple and perverted form by the German Nazis.” I would have thought that the Nazis were the perfect embodiment of what Nietzsche’s Superman was meant to be.

So, the West is limping after a Christian morality devoid of Christian sexual morality on one foot, while wanting a perfect superman on the other. And so, through abortion and stem cell research, along with cloning and other Frankenstein creations, Western Man looks forward to a brave new world where Man and Woman can go forth and become better and better and evolve into not only a superman and superwoman, but into an ultra-Superman. However, this cannot be done without getting rid of the weakest. If you want a superman then dwarfs, Downes Syndrome people, people with cleft palates, people with strawberry marks (rarely seen today; I wonder why?), the physically deformed, the mentally lacking, and anyone who does not come up to concepts of Arian beauty, will have to go either before birth or afterwards. Thus, abortion opens the way to Euthanasia and mass genocide not only of peoples, but of types. You cannot have Darwinian Man and the Superman unless you destroy all undesirables. The Western Intelligentsia have so far failed to make the connection between their concepts of ethics, care for the poor and the ill, a just and caring society, fare wages, and in a word, a welfare state, with Christianity. These concepts and life style can have no place in various forms of states given to the worship of Darwinian Man and Superman who are actually one and the same. Either you have a society like Nazi Germany or some neo pagan equivalent of the Aztec civilization or similar Mesoamerican societies, or you have a truly Christian Society which would bear the hall marks of the early Church. You cannot have both. Most modern philanthropists of the West are simply Christian/agnostic people who do not realize that their philosophy of life is flawed. They will find themselves little by little casting off their moorings to Christianity, and will enter a nightmare world where the survival of the fittest will be the way of life from now on, and they will have to submit to the tyranny of the Superman, who may even turn out to be the Antichrist. The West is living on the last dregs of Christian civilization.

Ever since Pope Francis presided over the worship of Pachamama on October 4th in the Vatican Gardens, and then at the closing Mass in St. Peter’s at the end of the Amazonian synod, where he endorsed the sacrifice to Pachamama by ordering the herbal sacrifice to her to be placed on the High Altar, the Roman Church like Judah and Jerusalem has stumbled and fallen. The Church in its leaders is no longer, but among the Faithful it still exists like a hidden and beautiful jewel. This state of affairs in a greater or lesser degree is replicated in the main line Christian Churches, with the Lutherans, the Anglicans, and American Episcopalians in the forefront. Certainly, in America the Methodists are divided. I think it would not be unfair to say that in the West most of the Churches are nothing but rotting corpses. In the Orthodox East, Russia leads the way in defending the immemorial traditions of the Church, but she sadly is in danger of compromising herself by a patriotism which is dangerously close to a rather fierce nationalism. The recent consecration of the Military Cathedral in Russia, though very inspiring and dramatic, may make Russia forget that those who live by the sword die by the sword. Today God is speaking to us through Isaiah when he says to the churches who have betrayed Him:

“For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah is fallen; because their speech and their deeds are against the LORD, defying his presence. Their partiality witnesses against them; they proclaim their sin like Sodom, they do not hide it. Woe to them! For the righteous have brought evil upon themselves.” (Isaiah 3: vv.8-9)

Not only do the cardinals, bishops, priests and theologians “proclaim their sin like Sodom” many of them practice the sin of Sodom. This is true of the very liturgical Western churches. It is different with the Orthodox churches and Oriental churches, where their asceticism prevents such mass immorality from affecting its secular clergy, who are married anyway; but not in the behaviour of Lutherans and Anglicans where there are not the constraints placed upon priests and their wives, namely the constraints of prayer and asceticism, as for the Roman clergy, we only have to look at the law courts and the compensation paid out to know how so many of them are behaving. We can say that, in the main, the clergy of the West have either lost the Faith or they have simply mirrored the prophets of Baal. There is however, no Elijah and no John the Baptist to call them to account. And so, for lack of prophets, millions upon millions of Christians are being led on the broad path to Hell. God has stopped the World in its tracks with the Corona virus. He is giving us a chance to live differently, but more importantly he is giving us a chance to think differently and for many Christians to pray and worship differently.

What is seen as a disaster is in fact a blessing. God is making us stand still. All the things that we love in the West has been taken from us. Live music, be it pop, rock or classical has been stopped. All live football has suddenly stopped. Cafes, and restaurants are closed. No tennis, no Wimbledon, no Henley, no Ascot, no golf, no football and no cricket, and worst of all no foreign holidays and travel. All the great music festivals throughout the World are not taking place. All the mad freneticism of the LGBT and Gay Pride marches have stopped for this year. The World will never be the same again. The 20th century has finally ended with the eruption of Corona into our lives at the end of 2019.

Those who do not want to follow Christ, but want some sort of traditional ethics and a religion, will be faced with certain possibilities; all of them dangerous, for the simple reason that they do not have the promise of eternal life that Christ can give, for they are the creation of Man, and not the salvation that is given by God to the human race. Islam, a marvellously rigid and simple system, and is nothing more and nothing less than a peculiar Christian heresy, presents to Man the absolutely terrifying Allah, who is not the same as the God of Israel, who reveals himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit at the coming of Jesus. There is certainly no guarantee of salvation with Islam, but it will be better than anarchy in its morals.

Looking further to the East, there is the great philosophical tradition of Buddhism which helps one to escape the suffering of this World; and leads one to Nirvana where there will be no suffering, but where one’s self-identity will be merged into something greater than the individual. Buddhism is very attractive to the Westerner, because it offers a system which is curiously amoral but certainly has nothing of the ruthlessness of Nietzsche’s Superman society.

Finally going further to the East, we come to that greatest of countries, namely the fabled land of China, so sadly, still under the godless system of Communism. Here you have Taoism, which the great Father Seraphim Rose thought closest in some ways to Christianity, and the only religion which seems to be the creation of hermits. Then last of all you have that very commendable philosophy of Confucius.

These are the best that can give the men of the West something that might help him, but they are not enough to get him to Heaven, but each one might prevent him from destroying much of the World.

Few of the men of the West would think of embracing Orthodox Judaism as it is too close to the Christianity, and that fills them with horror and revulsion, and it would certainly not allow them to do what they liked. Of course, the liberal forms of Judaism would possibly let the Westerners do exactly what they liked, but then what would be the point of that? It must be remembered that the majority of Jews have lost their Faith, and the Orthodox Jews are a small minority. The religions of the Plains Indians in North America and the Aborigines in Australia, though believing in the One Creator God, would be quite beyond the sophistication of the Westerner, and would require him to change his lifestyle. For a while these religions or philosophies might stave off the evil day of destruction, but not for too long for finally the end of all civilization would come. And would there be any point, for if you come from a Christian background such a move to such religions would be a denial of Christ’s Divinity, and his saving power and would ultimately lead to Hell.

The road that the worldly, the pleasure loving, and the sensualists will follow will be greatly influenced by a hedonism that derives much from Nietzsche and Darwin. In this society which will have elements of Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, and Brave New World (Orwell in 1984 never considered a World dominated by drugs, whereas Huxley did and was very accurate as to what the future held.) there will be a struggle between power and pleasure. Either there will be a Global state administered with an Imperial ruthlessness reminiscent of Ancient Rome, but far worse where only a few will enjoy a pleasure laden existence, and the majority will suffer in something akin to slavery, or there will be something dark and terrible like Mordor in The Lord of the Rings. However, as a constant leitmotif there will be neo paganism, witchcraft, and Satanism. The will to unbridled power and self-adoration will assert itself and become paramount. However, globalism may well collapse into total anarchy, and the World will be ruled by a new barbarism which will make the old Barbarism of the Dark Ages look pleasant by comparison, for there will be no vibrant youthful and ardent Christianity to witness to them. The terrifying world, envisaged by Logan’s Run and the Hunger Games, may become a reality in the very near future. We may even see the bloodletting games of ancient Rome arise again with Gladiators, battles in the arena and the new games where we will see the Christians once again martyred in a thousand different ways, but on an unconceivable scale.

Since the 60’s, Christianity has entered a time of unbelievable confusion. Before this utterly disastrous period, which is still with us, there were indeed the bizarre Protestant heresies such as Mormonism, Christian Science, Unitarianism, The Jehovah’s Witnesses and many others, but Catholicism and main line Protestantism, namely Lutheranism, the Baptists , Methodism, and Anglicanism, were sticking to their orthodoxies. The Orthodox East had been preserved by Communist persecution, with the Greek Orthodox, the Syrian Orthodox churches and others in the near East, free and continuing to hold to the ancient Faith along with the Coptic Church, and other Oriental Churches. The devastating rot purveyed by The World Council of Churches (Quite how the Orthodox Churches, who were part of this utterly questionable venture, ever managed to sleep alongside such uncongenial Christian bedfellows beggars belief, without being contaminated, I do not know. In fairness it must be stated that The Soviet Union made members of the Russian Orthodox Church attend). Then there is the shocking ambiguity of Vatican II, whose poisonous fruit is the Bergolian Papacy. This has, like some mind-altering drug, confused so many faithful. The championing of gay rights and gay leadership in the Lutheran and Anglican communions has made these churches look like modern counterparts of the cults of Baal and Astarte. Once again where are the Elijahs and the John the Baptists? Where are the Catherine of Sienas, the Brigid of Swedens, and the Hildgegard of Bingens? Certainly there are several women seers and mystics, foremost being Maria Divine Mercy, who are speaking out, but no one listens! Then of course there are the Two Patricks who for nearly 30 years have been calling us to repent. I am not conversant with similar individuals in the Protestant World but there must be not a few, but most of the churches and also the World itself are deaf.

True Christians, of whatever denomination, who hold to the ancient creeds must go underground, if indeed they are not forced underground as is the case in present day China, whose oppression of Christianity seems harsher than even under Stalin’s persecution of the 30’s. Christians of all denominations, who wish to be faithful to Christ and his teachings, will have to meet in secret as did the early Christians. The only way that souls can be saved is by the martyrdom of many Western Christians, for only then will the floodgates open and God’s mercy cleanse and sanctify the West. This may precede the great warning mentioned at Garabandal and through other seers, mystics and saints, but for the Church both East and West, Catholic and Protestant, Orthodox and oriental to become one, requires a Faith worthy of martyrs and nothing less. Church structures will collapse and so much of what we love and cherish will disappear. Our beautiful cathedrals, monasteries, and churches throughout Europe may well be almost entirely destroyed. We will be left with nothing, but the Faith. Then from terrible destruction, darkness and near despair, will emerge the Church purified and beautiful beyond compare and then will come peace. Then there will be one Church under Christ The Good Shepherd.

Christ has allowed the Corona Virus to spread throughout the World at an alarming speed, and though it has not had the devastating effect yet of the Black Death or the Spanish Flu, it has had a terrible effect on the World’s economy. No doubt this is a gift to the Globalists and those who want a titanic despotism in the form of a World Government. This government will be utterly ruthless in enforcing a political and economic agenda which will have to crush Christianity, while worshipping the idols of money, sex, pleasure, and perfectly made human beings. This government will be made up of an aristocracy of Supermen and Superwomen. This strange and ruthless world will have no place for the majority, who will, as always in the history of great empires of the past, be the poor and powerless, slaves and economic slaves. It will be a world of science and technology wedded to superstition, paganism, occultism and ultimately to the worship of Satan. It will be a world of dazzling miracles, which are not from Heaven but emanate from the raging bowels of Hell. Among the poor and powerless, the Christians will keep the Gospel ever alight and radiant amidst the darkness and gloom of a dying world.

Christ offers us this virus so that we can think and ponder on what we, as Christians will have to do, and where we shall have to go, to keep the Church alive; to keep the lamp burning. All depends on our response. Do we wish to be faithful to Christ and his Gospel or do we wish to be like the people of Israel, who throughout her history were quite happy to follow their priests and kings in trying to combine pagan beliefs and practices with the law of Moses. Do we wish to follow our leaders, both spiritual and secular, on the broad path to Hell or remain faithful to Christ, which requires that we carry our Cross with love and for the salvation of souls. Sadly so many Westerners are utterly sunk in the mire of their sins. This vast mass of millions upon millions of people will slide through their materialist and sensualist lives almost imperceptibly into the eternally burning lake of Fire. It is our solemn duty to witness to the truths of Faith and die for those beliefs so that the many will hear the Gospel, see it realized in our lives, and come to Christ. God is giving the World a chance to believe him and we are his ambassadors. In locked down nations, where so many millions, if not billions of people have time to think, it is up to us to make the Face of Christ to be seen once again in all its radiance, majesty and beauty. We must be his eyes, his voice, his hands, and his love. There is no other way than this. Finally If we do this, then all these different opposing groups, who may fight one another, as we are seeing at present over the case of “Black Lives Matter”, and who so often are united in their hatred for Christians, then perhaps they will begin to change and realize that it is Christ who is the answer to all their problems, their anguish, and will be the one who will bring them true joy and everlasting peace.

So, we must, like the early Christians, be seen to truly love one another, if we do not then ours will be a severe judgement when we come before Christ on the Final Day of Judgement. Do we Christians truly love one another, that is the question?

“The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the crocus it shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the majesty of our God.

Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, fear not! Behold your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” (Isaiah 35: vv. 1-4)

“We of the Underground Church have no cathedrals. But is any Cathedral more beautiful than the sky of heaven to which we looked when we gathered secretly in forests? The chirping of the birds took the place of the organ. The fragrance of the flowers was our incense. And the shabby suit of a martyr recently freed from prison was much more impressive than priestly robes. We had the moon and stars as candles. The angels were the acolytes who lit them.

I can never describe the beauty of this Church! Often, after a secret service, Christians were caught and sent to prison. There, the Christians wear chains with gladness which a bride wears a precious jewel received from her beloved. The waters in prison are still. They receive His kiss and His embraces, and would not change places with kings. I have found truly joyful Christians only in the Bible, in the Underground Church and in prison……….In formerly Communist Russia, no one remembered anymore the arguments for and against child or adult baptism, for or against papal infallibility. They were not pre- or post-millenialists. They could not interpret prophecies and didn’t quarrel about them, but I wondered very often how well they could prove to atheists the existence of God.” (Richard Wurmbrand; Tortured for Christ: pp. 98-100)
